Magistrate Courts, Jodhpur
The magistrate courts at Jodhpur, headed by the Chief Judicial Magistrate, are where a criminal case first reaches a judge — cognizance, remand, and the trial of offences not triable by the Sessions Court.

Two practical points. First, remand is decided here, and what happens at the first production shapes everything after it — including whether police custody is extended. Second, cheque bounce matters live or die on the statutory notice, and the notice is sent long before this court ever sees the file. By the time the complaint is filed, that part is already decided.
Appeals from a magistrate go to the District and Sessions Court, not to the High Court.

High Court
The Rajasthan High Court has its principal seat at Jodhpur; the bench at Jaipur is the secondary seat, not the other way round.
